Single covers?

Why do we only sell wheel covers in sets?

We completely understand the frustration. You hit a curb, damage one wheel cover, and you just want to replace that specific one. It is one of our most frequently asked questions: "Can I just buy a single cover?"

While we would love to help, we made the difficult business decision to stop selling single covers. We believe in transparency, so we have outlined the logistical and economic reasons below.

1. The "Orphaned" Stock Problem

We currently stock 10 different styles of wheel covers. However, it is more complex than just style. Because many of our covers are directional (meaning there is a specific Left and Right version), we actually manage inventory for roughly 15 different types of covers.

The Reality: When we break a set to sell one cover, we are left with 3 "orphaned" covers. Based on our sales data, it can take over a year to sell the remaining covers in that broken set—if we sell them at all.

2. The Logistics Costs

Shipping a large, oddly shaped item like a wheel cover is expensive. Whether we send one cover or four, the costs to us remain largely the same:

  • Packaging: A sturdy box and protective packing materials cost us approximately £5.00.
  • Shipping: The courier fee to ship a box of this size is approximately £10.00, regardless of whether the box contains one cover or a full set.

3. The Economics (Why it's bad value for you)

Because the fixed costs (shipping and packaging) are so high, the math simply doesn't work in favor of the customer.

Single Cover

~ £40.00

Poor Value

  • Product Cost
  • £5.00 Packaging
  • £10.00 Courier
  • Broken Set Surcharge

Price per cover: £40.00

Set of 4

£80.00

Best Value

  • Product Cost (x4)
  • £5.00 Packaging
  • £10.00 Courier
  • Bulk Savings

Price per cover: £20.00

As you can see, selling a single cover would cost nearly £50 once we factor in the logistics and the cost of breaking a set. It simply isn't fair to ask a customer to pay £40 for a single item when a full set of 4 costs £80.

💡 Our Recommendation

If you are prone to kerb damage (it happens to the best of us!), we recommend the following strategies to save money:

  • Buy two sets at once: Keep the second set as spares. This guarantees you have replacements for years to come without worrying about stock availability.
  • Check your email: We frequently send discount codes to returning customers or please send a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible
  • Wait for sales: We run seasonal promotions that make buying a full set even more affordable.
